Re: Tuomo Ruutu to Retire??? « Result #5 on Aug 21, 2006, 8:55am »
Well, they've now got Havlat, along with Seabrook, Bourque, Barker, Vorobiev. Maybe things will turn around for them soon. By the sounds of it they'll have Ruutu back this year, hopefully he doesn't injure again.

5,4,2,1,3 would my order of priority but close choices here - it would help to know the size and nature of your league. Just off the top I like Spezza this season and while I would take Thorton over him at centre - isnt by much - Ovechkin is an autokeeper - between Heater and Cheech - I kinda that new Sharks top line, but tough to let Heatley go.
Perhaps I don't understand but if you can only keep 5 players and you have arguably top 10 forwards in Ove, Thorton, Cheech, Spezza, Heatley, Stall - who the keck would you trade for the improve your 5 keepers? Zubov and Brodeur might be tough to upgrade too.

- DTP is closing - « Result #8 on Aug 19, 2006, 10:43pm »
To all members:
After much consideration, recently I began the process of starting a new version of this site with a new name...which means Drop the Puck will be closing soon. In its place, will come Hockey Utopia, ahead of schedule and ready for the 2006-2007 season and beyond!
Thank you for all who helped this site grow into a success and I hope you all like the new site. I'm looking forward to see all the regulars from here over at Hockey Utopia.
I've acquired the domain name www.hockeyutopia.com and it will be active sometime on Wed, August 23rd the day that DTP will close.

perhaps i could make some trades before the fantasy draft begin...
which one of these 5 keeper combinations do you prefer... this season we only keep 5 players, but after the next season we keep the whole team... perhaps you can order these 5 possibilies for me...

Re: Nolan a Coyote « Result #11 on Aug 16, 2006, 10:26pm »
Phoenix is certainly going to be an "interesting" team this year if nothing else. I think if Nolan plays alongside the newly motivated Jeremy Roenick, it could serve him well. I don't know how dedicated Nolan is to hockey anymore, I guess he has lost a lot of weight. As a 2nd liner, you can't really go wrong with Nolan, as long as he stays healthy for the majority of the season. A veteran center and a young coach should help him along. At this point in time, my projections for him would be about 45 points in 60 games tops.

Fantastic group of starters, but you might be playing it a little thin on LW after Nagy gets his annual injuring. Farm is relatively weak.. that's the price you have to pay when you shop for a group of starters like yours. All in all it's pretty solid for a 13 team roto. If you can avoid injuries you're in good shape. No need to make any desperate changes before the season, unless Nagy finds a way to injure himself before October (hey, I wouldn't put it past him).
However, did I hear that there's a team with Crosby, Alfredsson and Sakic? Well if that's true, I don't know if your boys there are that good but hey, best of luck.

Tuesday, Coyotes doctors received the final medical verification Nolan is ready to return to the National Hockey League from a rigorous rehab on an injured knee.
Phoenix will open training camp on September 14th and its Nolan's intent to be more than ready to join the battle at that time.
He is already in the process of purchasing a home in Arizona and has told Coyotes management he will be on the ice as part of a local pro-camp beginning this Sunday.
The one year deal is believed to pay Nolan between 1 and 1.25 million dollars.
